All our Echo and Shindaiwa hedgers have low emission meeting all current EPA and CARB requirements. (To maximize performance and service life of low emission engines, use only appropriate mixing oil at 50:1 ratio that meets ISO-L-EGD and JASO FC standards.  Use only fresh gas in the mixture with octane rating at or greater than 89.)

The key to a clean cut of hedges is the reciprocating blade, allowing the trimmer to cut plant material cleanly without shredding it.

Dual blades cut in either direction from either side of the plant making sculpturing easier.

Weight and balance are very important since you will be holding the machine at chest height or higher. At times you will also be using the tool with your arms extended.

Gas / Oil mixture
A 50:1 ratio with 89 Octane fuel

Add half of the amount of fuel being mixed in an approved container. Add complete contents of  Bottle of Premium 2-stroke engine oil (containing stabilizer) and mix thoroughly. Add the remaining amount fuel being mixed and mix thoroughly.

1. Oil must be JASO/FC and ISO-LEGD certified. JASO/FC and ISO-LEGD

2. Gasoline must be 89 octane or higher octane. Premium gasoline has greater amounts of detergents and anti-oxidizing additives to keep the engines clean. Poor gas

3.Use only fuel approved containers. The additives in today’s fuels can cause other than approved containers to deteriorate and contaminate fuel that is otherwise okay. Once this contaminated fuel enters an engine it tends to cause the moving parts to stick together and possibly cause serious damage to the unit.

Safety

Wear protective clothing to keep you safe from flying debris. Safety glasses or goggles are also advised.
