Transfer Switch Transfer Switch System
At Jack's we carry the Honda approved Transfer Switch.
A transfer switch can help you safely power your home or business using a portable generator. Portable generators can provide comfort, safety and security during power outages and emergencies, and can be installed temporarily during these situations. Transfer Switch System and a portable generator are important in areas that experience frequent power outages or susceptible to severe weather or for good emergency planning.
Transfer switches allow a safe connection from a generator to a household/commercial electrical system. The transfer switch isolates the generator, so it can’t accidentally electrify external power wires.
A manual transfer switch is the key to safe and convenient operation of
portable generators for standby power. By isolating those circuits using
generator power, a transfer switch eliminates the risk of backfeeding the
electrical utility, which can cause injury to workers and property damage.
TRANSFER SWITCHES GenTran’s transfer switches can be expanded up to 16 circuits during installation. Designed for generators ranging from 3,750 watts to 15,000 watts. Available in 6, 10, and 12 circuit expandable configurations. UL listed.
Transfer Switch models:
Transfer switches and inlet boxes must be installed by a qualified electrician and the connection must comply with all applicable laws and electric codes.
Caution: Improper connection of your portable generator and transfer switch system could void your homeowner's insurance in case of accident or injury. A portable generator must be connected properly to protect electrical utility workers, family members and property. It is important that a licensed knowledgeable electrician install your transfer switch system.
